Where Javascript enhancements are used and where possible (everywhere, at the time of writing) the enhancements have a non-Javascript alternative available. These will automatically be used if Javascript is unavailable or has been disabled in your browser.Further improvements to site accessibility include keyboard navigation, which may be used anywhere on Newsgrail and shortcut links have been provided to skip large bodies of links which are not essential to the page content. Drop-down menus may be tabbed through in the normal process of navigating links. CAPTCHA inputs have an audio equivalent for visual checks. Form fields are labelled and further information is provided via screen-readable text where applicable. Duplicate links or "link islands" have additional title text to provide context.Website accessibility is an ongoing process and not always easy to get the best result for everyone. If you have feedback about using the Newsgrail site, you can let me know
Update 1st June 2009: Form text has been moved inside the field labels so they can be read aloud by screenreaders and the order of form elements has been changed so help text is read before the input field. The third-party sharing tool has been updated so the non-javascript page passes the Cynthia accessibility test. Links now have content-type set if the target is internal to the website and different to the currently displayed page.
